Why should I invest in a quality web site?

April 1, 2008 – 8:46 am
If I can share my experience – a site like http://arlington.chiroweb.com/index.php is really simply a ‘big yellow page.’In that it really isn’t personalized, and there is actually little information there to promote the idea to return back to the web site.  So my guess would be that this DC would receive short term patients as they are offering basically contact information.  So while this is a nice web site, it is like a ‘Toyota’ car – a good car, however there is more.   I like to think I create BMW’s, Lexus, etc. A web site like my clinic’s www.drbeattie.com attracts wellness patients.  This month I’ve had a mom and her 5 year old daughter come in – why, they liked my web site and thought it would be good to get checked.  I work a lot with local midwives and they direct a lot of their clients to my web site ...

When I google for my site, it doesn’t appear.

March 10, 2008 – 6:36 pm
It may take 4-12 weeks before Google finds your site.  So time and patience is key. Any web site with Chirowebs.net is already search engine friendly. There are several things you can do to increase your ranking (if you are a client, then likely I've explained some of them to you already).  Check out http://www.chirowebs.net/wordpress/?p=17 I am also putting together a more indepth report - so stay tuned! If you are doing all that, then it is simply a matter of time. Remember, you are always the best source of traffic to your web site.  Talk about your web site with others, ask people if they've seen your site, etc.

What feature or options are available?

March 7, 2008 – 6:30 am
Glad to hear you want to maximize your web site. There are several options available.  Because everything I do is custom, basically if there is something you want, let me know and I will let you know what's involved in getting it set up. Here are some ideas: Blogs - add a blog, similar to what you are currently looking at.  This will allow you to write your own thoughts, and bascially have an online journal. Calendar - add an interactive calendar from Google (Chirowebs now uses a Google Powered Solution for emails, calendars, etc).  http://www.chirowebs.net/calendar - you can update your calendar whenever you wish. On Line Videos - Check out http://www.drscottgardner.com/index.php?page=exercise for a great example of what this Doc did. He uploaded his exercise video to his web site. Monthly Newsletters - this is vital.  You need to stay in constant connection with your database.  That's why Chirowebs.net now includes a monthly newsletter.  This newsletter is ...

My wireless internet keeps acting up

February 24, 2008 – 12:02 pm
Very common problem, and while it shouldn't be with up to date equipment it still is. Lots of thing can cause interference.  I went through 4 cordless phones and 2 routers until I found a combination that seems to work.  Then we brought a microwave, and that messed everything up! What finally worked was going into the control panel of the wireless router (or access point) and play with the channels.  I found one that worked at all times. So try playing with the channels within the router. Hence, whenever possible, go with wires.

Google Powered chiropractic.cc!!

February 5, 2008 – 4:14 pm
Now when you get a web site, I can set you up with a Google powered email! There are TONS of amazing features to this. If you have a blackberry, you can set it up to check your email.  There is a calendar (that you can add to your web site), spam filtering, anti-virus, and chat.  In fact - ask me how we can now chat using Google Talk. With the email, you will notice that when you check your email, a copy will stay on your Chiropractic.cc account.  No worries - you will never run out of space (currently at 6GB!) and it's a perfect way to keep an archive record of any emails. If your spam folder is filling up - any emails older than 30 days is automatically emptied. Just 1 more way I can serve you better!!

Newsletter and spam

February 5, 2008 – 9:33 am
Each month, everyone on your database will automatically receive a copy of your newsletter. Every effort is done to ensure that your newsletter will receive your subscriber's inbox.  However some will be marked as spam. The best solution is to have your subscriber contact their internet provider and ask them to add your email address to their 'white list.'  Or if they are using a service such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc, add your email to their addresses book. Also be sure you promote your newsletter in office and have people go to your web site.  All past issues are automatically added to your site.

Self Updates

January 23, 2008 – 10:04 am
There are now a couple of options to editing your web site.  Please click here for the tutorial page

Auto responders, opt in, thank you pages, and more.

January 21, 2008 – 3:43 pm
With web sites you can create custom pages and have people sign up for various events. Typically you create an 'opt in' page where someone enters their name, email address and any other contact information you wish. Then after filling out the form, people can then be sent to a 'thank you page' and/or receive an 'auto responder' email in their inbox. The thank you/confirmation and the autoresponder email can be the same or completely different. Best to include time, date, contact information and any other key information in either (or both) the thank you/confirm page and email.

What’s the best way to put something on my site?

January 17, 2008 – 9:16 pm
To have me add something to your web site, the best format is as a Word document or as text in email.  I can then simply copy and edit the text.  When you send me something, please send it to me written EXACTLY as you wish.  Don't say 'I want something that says something like....'  Send me exactly what you want, that way your web site will reflect more of your style. If you have an image or picture, you can scan it and send it to me as a JPG file. Finally you are welcome to send me the picture/image/etc to scan, make sure it remains flat and do not put paper clips, tape, etc on it.  It needs to be as perfect as possible as scanning will bring out any marks. Feel free to send me anything you want to send to me and I will take care of the rest. Michael

What do I get for my monthly subscription?

January 15, 2008 – 8:20 am
So why is there a monthly subscription? When you get a web site, you need to pay for hosting.  Effectively this is 'rent' for the computer where your computer files are stored. With Chirowebs.net, the monthly fee includes the hosting for your site (unless there are special additional requirements), and up to 1 hour of updates.  If you would like to do updates yourself, let me know and I can set up areas where you can edit text for events such as classes, upcoming events, etc. The main part of the monthly subscription is for the 'leasing' of health library http://www.chirowebs.net/health_page.php and pages supplied by Chirowebs.net.  If you were to go to a web designer and ask them to design for you a 100+ page web site, they would become your new best friend.  The average rate for a web site is $100/page.  So if you were to build a web site like Chirowebs.net yourself, ...
